Dr. Sarah Bliss Matousek is an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Gonzaga University and an Affiliate Faculty member in the Department of Neurobiology and Biophysics at the University of Washington. She also serves on the Research Advisory Committee for the University of Washington School of Medicine Spokane Campus. Her work focuses on improving health systems, advancing rural and community health, and strengthening access to mental health services.
Dr. Matousek earned her PhD in Neurobiology from the University of Rochester and her MPH from Boston University. Before entering academia, she spent more than a decade in healthcare management consulting, working with health systems, community health organizations, and state agencies on strategy, health system improvement, and cross-sector collaboration. Her current research and applied work focus on rural health systems, mental health access, and community partnerships that improve population health.
