Fallon Health

Manny Lopes is the incoming President and CEO of Fallon Health, a nationally recognized not-for-profit health care services organization with a unique focus on improving access, quality, and affordability in government markets. He recently served as the Interim CEO of Fenway Health, one of the first health care organizations to specifically address the health care needs of the LGBTQ+ community.  Prior to that, he was the Executive Vice President of Public Markets and Government Relations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the largest private health plan in Massachusetts and one of the largest independent, not-for-profit Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in the country.

Previously, Manny Lopes served as President and CEO of East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, the largest community health center in Massachusetts and one of the largest in the United States. Under his leadership, the health center increased its number of patients served by nearly 40% and added two new state-of-the-art facilities. Before being named the health center’s President and CEO in 2012, Manny served in a variety of leadership positions at the health center, including in IT, human resources, and operations.

Manny has a long history of developing innovative programs that improve health care quality, access, and equity. He is the co-founder and founding chair of the Community Care Cooperative, the largest Medicaid ACO in Massachusetts which was created and governed by health centers and exclusively focused on advancing community-based care for MassHealth members. Manny also co-founded Advocates for Community Health, a national advocacy organization for innovative health centers focused on equity and impact. He previously served multiple years as Chair of the Boston Public Health Commission where he helped create and lead Boston’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manny currently serves on the boards of the New Commonwealth Foundation and the Institute of Contemporary Art. He received his MBA from Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business.
