Helen brings to the team a background in performance and contract management and qualitative research and analysis.
Before joining Day Health Strategies, Helen worked as a Program Manager for the Community Partners program at MassHealth, a statewide initiative to improve care coordination and behavioral health integration for Medicaid enrollees in Massachusetts. She collaborated with several community agencies on a day-to-day basis as a liaison for MassHealth, corresponding with agency leaders to resolve programmatic and operational issues and managing performance and contract compliance via deliverable review, budget oversight, and comparative KPI analysis. Prior to joining MassHealth full-time, Helen served as an intern on the Parent, Child and Family team, where she helped research policy around the provision of health-related social needs services to children and families. Before working for MassHealth, Helen worked as a Research Assistant for Boston University and Stanford University. Her experience includes qualitative data collection, coding, and analysis, as well as program implementation.
Helen’s passion for health equity and behavioral health integration has driven her professional journey. Her experience working and volunteering for two mental health nonprofits as well as in a traditional health care setting allowed her to better understand the barriers to access to behavioral health care in the United States and led her to pursue graduate studies in public health. Helen holds an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Law and a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. In her free time, Helen enjoys going on long walks through Brookline, exploring New England, and spending time in California with her family.
